Yrityshaku

Yrityshaku on YTJ.fi is the free official search of businesses registered in Finland. You can search by name, business ID or person. The result shows the company form, registered office, line of business, and often VAT and prepayment-register status.

It shows what has been filed with PRH and the Tax Administration. It does not show turnover or owners’ private addresses. Financial statements of limited companies are in PRH’s Virre service; some extracts are subject to a fee.

Paid tools such as Valona Intelligence monitor news and foreign sources. They do not replace YTJ for Finnish legal status.

Practical advice

Search your industry words and town before you register, so you can see who already operates there.

Check a customer’s Y-tunnus against YTJ before the first invoice.

Keep a list of competitors with Y-tunnus, form, postcode and website.
